quickGPT keeps the chatgpt.com UI you already know and silently swaps the backend for one that streams tokens faster. Same prompts, same chat layout, same model picker — the replies just arrive quicker.

WHY
ChatGPT's interface is great. Its streaming speed, sometimes, is not. quickGPT is a two-second install that fixes the second half without touching the first.

HOW IT WORKS
• Visit chatgpt.com as normal. The page loads exactly as before.
• When you send a message, quickGPT intercepts the outgoing conversation request and answers it from a faster upstream instead.
• The reply streams back into ChatGPT's own UI using the same event protocol, so the typing animation, code blocks, and copy buttons all behave the way you expect.
• The toolbar icon has a single switch. ON = quickGPT. OFF = normal ChatGPT. Flip it any time.

WHAT YOU GET
• Faster first token and faster streaming on every reply.
• The ChatGPT UI, untouched. No new sidebar, no new window, nothing to re-learn.
• Per-tab sessions held in memory. Refresh to reset.
• Zero configuration. No API key, no account, no settings page.

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
• Does not read, store, or transmit your ChatGPT account data. It only touches the conversation request you just sent.
• Does not change the ChatGPT DOM, inject UI, or show ads.
• Does not do anything when switched OFF — the toolbar toggle fully disables interception.

PERMISSIONS, PLAINLY
• storage — remembers whether the toggle is ON or OFF.
• chatgpt.com — required to intercept conversation requests on the page you are chatting on.
• speedy-gpt.jmw.nz — the upstream that actually answers your messages.

Nothing else is read, logged, or sent anywhere.

quickGPT is a demo. It works, it is fast, and it is small — three short scripts. Source is open.
