Responsible Cooking Alliance helps assess online recipes and food-related content against nutrition and sustainability criteria. It is designed to support healthier, more sustainable cooking at home and to reduce the confusion caused by conflicting dietary advice online.

When you visit a recipe page, the extension can analyse the visible page content and provide an assessment based on relevant guidelines and project-defined criteria. It may identify recipe ingredients, highlight areas where a recipe could be improved, and suggest possible ingredient changes. Users remain in control: suggestions can be accepted or rejected, helping the system evaluate which recommendations are useful in practice.

The extension is part of the Horizon Europe DietWise project and the Responsible Cooking Alliance initiative. DietWise aims to empower citizens, food influencers, researchers, public authorities, and other stakeholders to create better digital food environments and encourage healthier and more sustainable food choices.

The extension processes page content only when the user chooses to assess a page. Page content is sent to DietWise servers for analysis, but it is not stored after processing. The system may store assessed recipe URLs and user decisions on ingredient suggestions for statistical, research, evaluation, and project reporting purposes.

Responsible Cooking Alliance is intended for people who want clearer recipe guidance, and for stakeholders interested in improving online food content in line with nutrition and sustainability goals.
