About
RINdesk Connector is the companion extension for RINdesk, a web platform that automates RIN (Renewable Identification Number) management on the EPA's EMTS system. ━━ What it does ━━ Once installed and linked to your RINdesk account, the extension runs quietly in the background. When you log into emts.epa.gov the way you always do — including login.gov and multi-factor authentication — the extension securely relays your session cookies to RINdesk over HTTPS. RINdesk uses that session to: • Accept pending RIN trades automatically, on schedule • Sync your current holdings by D-code, year, assignment, and QAP status • Separate assigned RINs, create sell offers, and retire RINs for compliance • Generate monthly reconciliation reports by partner • Track your Renewable Volume Obligation against retired RINs • Compute realized and mark-to-market P&L on your position ━━ Why we built it ━━ EMTS requires login.gov authentication with MFA — that means no server can log in on your behalf without a human in the loop. Competing RIN management services solve this by having their staff log in as your authorized agent. We wanted a software-only solution. The extension bridges the gap: you remain the one logging in (with your credentials and your MFA device), and the extension simply piggybacks on your authenticated session to let RINdesk operate on your behalf until you log out. ━━ Security ━━ We never see your EPA CDX or login.gov credentials. They stay in your browser. Session cookies are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. API tokens are stored only as SHA-256 hashes. Data is isolated per-customer via Postgres row-level security. Review our full privacy policy at rindesk.com/privacy. ━━ Getting started ━━ 1. Create a RINdesk account at rindesk.com 2. Install this extension 3. In RINdesk → Settings → Create API Token → copy the token 4. Click the extension icon → paste the token → Link 5. Log into emts.epa.gov normally — the extension captures your session That's it. RINdesk runs automation on your schedule from there. ━━ Requirements ━━ • Active RINdesk subscription • An EPA EMTS account with RIN transactions • Chrome 100+ Support: [email protected]
