About

SnapNotes lets you capture text highlights from any webpage into a personal notebook that lives entirely on your device.

HOW IT WORKS
• Select text on any page — a save popover appears
• Optionally add the note to a wishlist (Books, Travel, Research, etc.)
• Open the side panel to browse, search, edit, copy, or delete notes
• Export everything as Markdown or JSON anytime

PRIVACY FIRST
• All notes stored locally in your browser (IndexedDB)
• No account required
• No analytics or tracking
• No data sent to SnapNotes servers
• First-run notice explains what is stored on your device

• Light, dark, and system themes

PERMISSIONS (why we need them)
• storage — save theme and UI preferences
• sidePanel — your notes library
• tabs — open the original page when you tap “Open source”
• Access to all websites — show the save UI only when you select text on a page you visit

SnapNotes does not read page content in the background. It only runs when you interact with selected text.

Do not save passwords or other sensitive information in highlights. Notes are stored unencrypted in your browser profile.
