    description
PDF Editor Online is a one‑click launcher that opens the fast, free editor at https://pdf-editor.online in a new tab. Edit PDF text, whiteout or replace content, add images and annotations, reorder or rotate pages, and export a clean PDF — right in your browser with no watermarks.

    - What you get: quick access to the full web app for PDF editing
    - Key features: edit/replace text, whiteout/redact, add images/shapes, highlight/annotate, reorder/rotate/delete pages, undo/redo, export to new PDF
    - Privacy: edits happen in your browser; no account required
    - Permissions: Tabs only (used to open the site when you click the icon). No tracking, no host permissions
    - How to use: pin the extension and click the toolbar icon to launch the editor; upload your PDF and start editing
    - Help: https://pdf-editor.online/help.html
Folio is a deterministic PDF text editor that runs entirely in your browser. Click the toolbar icon to launch the editor at pdf-editor.online in a new tab — no install, no watermarks on export.

    What Folio actually does today:

    • Edits text inside a real PDF. Click a word, type, save. The edit lands in the original file with the original font, size, colour, and position — byte-for-byte identical to the original where the text length matches. We don't convert your PDF to HTML and back; we mutate the PDF object model directly. • Honors the original layout. The page you see after saving is the page the recipient sees, down to the kerning. No reflow surprises. • Undo / redo every edit. Cmd/Ctrl+Z and Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+Z. • Exports a clean PDF. No watermark, ever. • Optional public share link. Generate a read-only URL for any document, scoped to the file you choose, revocable any time. • Workspace library. Search and organise your uploaded documents.

How the editor handles its limits — honestly:

    • If a replacement is longer than the original text run, we surface a warning instead of silently breaking the layout. You decide whether to shorten, shrink, or accept the overflow. • If the embedded font subset doesn't include a character you typed (a common quirk of PDF font subsetting), we block that specific edit and explain why, rather than corrupt the file. • Scanned PDFs (pages that are images of text, not real text) aren't editable in place. We detect this on upload and tell you up-front.

    How privacy works:

    • Your PDF is parsed and modified inside your browser. The file is uploaded to your own authenticated storage only when you choose to save — and only so you can re-open it from another device. The editing itself happens on your machine. • The Chrome extension does not collect, transmit, or store any data of its own. It opens pdf-editor.online in a new tab. That's all.

Common use cases that work today:

    • Fix a typo in a contract or NDA before sending • Correct an amount, date, or name on an invoice • Update a quote or proposal without re-exporting from Word • Touch up a receipt for an expense report

Things Folio does NOT do (yet) — so you don't have to guess:

    • Whiteout / redaction (rectangle-based content removal) • Image, shape, or signature insertion • Highlighting, underlining, or comment annotations • Page reorder, rotate, or delete • Multi-line paragraph rewrap (we edit one text run at a time)

These are on the roadmap; track progress at https://pdf-editor.online/.

About
