Mindful YouTube adds a gentle, calming pause — and an optional daily limit — to the specific YouTube channels you tend to watch too much. Instead of blocking the whole site, it brings intention to the handful of channels that pull you in.

When you open a video from a channel you've added, a quiet full-screen breathing screen appears with your own message and a short countdown. The video stays paused and muted until the wait is over. When you're ready, you click Continue — a small, deliberate moment to ask yourself whether this is how you want to spend your time right now.

You set your own daily view limit per channel. Once you hit it, that channel is paused for the rest of the day and resets automatically at midnight.

FEATURES

• A calming pause — full-screen breathing animation and countdown; the player is paused and muted until you continue.
• Honest daily limits — every open counts. Videos count when you continue.
• Resume, don't restart — reload mid-wait and the countdown picks up where it left off, so you can't skip the pause by refreshing.
• At-a-glance tracking — the toolbar popup shows today's counts for each channel.

PRIVACY
Everything stays on your device. No accounts, no tracking, no data ever leaves your browser. There are no external servers and nothing is collected.

GENTLE BY DESIGN
This is friction, not a lock. It's meant to interrupt habit and invite reflection — not to forcibly restrict you. If you truly want to watch, you still can. The goal is awareness, not punishment.
