What is turnaround?

Turnaround is an audio program that will teach your child how to systematically overcome anxiety. It is unique because it communicates the material clearly to children without compromising effective psychological treatment! A completely new child-friendly vocabulary full of appealing examples gives you and your child a shared language. The result is a clever blend of proven treatment inside an exciting story that your child will want to hear! It is chock-full of funny characters, inspiring stories and the “how-to” needed to overcome anxiety.

Who is behind Turnaround?

Turnaround was born out of need. In 2008 Dr. McCarthy and Dr. Russ discovered they were both troubled by the lack of age-appropriate help for children with anxiety. Both had children who struggled with anxiety and both had combed available resources for options. They found themselves in the unique position of being both clinician and patient. From this vantage point they determined to create a treatment program in the language and framework of children.

Little did they know but it would take two years of intensive work to create the program. The research and clinical expertise was not new. Designing a comprehensive step-by-step treatment program that would engage and speak directly to children in an interactive audio format – that was new.
