WHAT IS SHIELDKEY?

ShieldKey is a lightweight TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password) authenticator that lives in your browser. It generates the same 6-digit codes as Google Authenticator, Authy, or Microsoft Authenticator but without needing your phone.

Perfect for developers, remote workers, and anyone who uses 2FA daily and wants faster access to their codes.

KEY FEATURES

• TOTP Code Generation / Standard 6-digit codes with a 30-second countdown ring that shows exactly how much time you have left.

• QR Code Scanning / Open any 2FA setup page, click "Scan QR from Page" and ShieldKey reads it automatically. No manual typing needed.

• Drag & Drop / Paste / Screenshot a QR code and drag it into ShieldKey, or just paste it with Ctrl+V. Works without closing the extension.

• Manual Entry / Add accounts by typing the service name, email, and secret key directly.

• One-Click Copy / Click any account to instantly copy the code to your clipboard. Visual feedback confirms the copy.

• Search & Filter / Quickly find accounts by name or email. Useful when you have many accounts.

• Categories / Organize accounts into groups: Work, Social, Finance, Email, Development, or Other.

• Drag to Reorder / Arrange your accounts in any order you prefer by dragging them.

• Dark & Light Theme  /  Toggle between dark and light mode, or let it follow your system preference.

• Export Vault / Download all your accounts as a JSON backup file. Keep it safe.

• Import Vault / Restore accounts from a backup file. Easy migration between devices.

HOW TO USE

1. Click the ShieldKey icon in your toolbar
2. Click the + button to add an account
3. Either scan a QR code or enter details manually
4. Your codes appear instantly with a countdown timer
5. Click any code to copy it to clipboard

IMPORT FORMAT

If you want to import accounts from another authenticator, create a JSON file with this format:
