About

Plywood Calculator by SmartCutList: enter your project dimensions, get an exact sheet count in under 30 seconds.

A 4x8 sheet covers 32 square feet. At $50-133 per sheet, buying one too many (or too few) adds up fast. This calculator does the math so you can shop with a number, not a guess.

KEY FEATURES

- Exact sheet count: enter length and width (or total area) and get the number of sheets you need, rounded up so you never come short.
- Built-in waste factor: defaults to 10% for standard projects. Adjust from 0% to 50% to account for cuts, damage, and fitting.
- Full unit conversion: switch freely between mm, cm, m, in, ft, and yd. Values convert automatically when you change units, so you can mix metric and imperial without a second calculator.
- Cost estimation: enter the price per unit area (USD, EUR, GBP, or CAD) and see the total material cost instantly.
- Remembers your inputs: dimensions, units, and settings are saved automatically and restored when you reopen the panel. No re-entering anything.
- Stays beside your tab: the panel opens alongside your current page so you can reference plans, shop online, or read specs while you calculate.

HOW TO USE

1. Click the SmartCutList icon in your toolbar to open the panel.
2. Enter the surface you need to cover (length x width, or total area).
3. Adjust the sheet size if it differs from the default 4x8 ft.
4. Set your waste factor (10% is standard for most projects).
5. Add a price per unit area to see the total cost (optional).

BUILT FOR

- Woodworkers planning a cabinet, shelf, or furniture build
- DIYers estimating plywood for flooring, walls, or sheathing
- Contractors preparing material quotes
- Anyone at the lumber yard who needs a quick sheet count on their phone

No account, no ads, no data collection. Open the panel, enter your dimensions, and get your answer.
