About

speedctl gives you precise control over video playback speed on YouTube with powerful rule-based automation.

Features:
• Set a default playback speed (0.5x to 3.0x) that applies to all videos automatically
• Create per-channel rules — assign a specific speed to any YouTube channel
• Define regex-based title rules — match video titles with regular expressions to set speeds automatically
• Rule priority: Title regex rules > Channel rules > Default speed
• Customizable keyboard shortcuts to quickly adjust speed while watching
• On-screen speed indicator overlay with smooth fade animation
• Popup for quick channel rule creation from the current video
• Settings sync via Chrome local or sync storage
• Clean, minimal options page for managing all your rules

How it works:
1. Install the extension and set your preferred default speed
2. Optionally add channel-specific rules for channels you watch frequently
3. Add regex rules to match video titles (e.g., "tutorial" or "music.*official")
4. Use keyboard shortcuts (default: S to slow down, D to speed up) to adjust on the fly

speedctl runs only on YouTube and requires only the "storage" permission — no data is collected or transmitted.
