HOW IT WORKS
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The moment you open an Instagram DM, Oxytocin gets to work. It detects who you're talking to, silently scrolls back through your conversation history to build context, and generates a reply the instant they send you a message — before you've even read it.

No copy-pasting into ChatGPT. No switching tabs. No losing the flow of the conversation.

The reply appears in a floating popover directly on the Instagram page. Edit it, send it, or tell the AI what to change. It stays out of your way until you need it.

⚡ Auto-Pilot Mode
Turn it on and replies generate automatically the moment someone messages you. Flip it off and use "Generate Now" to trigger on demand. You choose how much control to hand over.

🧠 Conversation Memory
After 5 or more messages, Oxytocin writes a rolling AI summary of the relationship — topics you've discussed, inside jokes, shared interests, emotional dynamics, and communication style. Every future reply is built on top of this memory, not just the last few messages.

🎭 11 Built-In Talking Styles
Match your energy to the moment. Choose from: Default, Chad, Simp, Funny, Flirty, Devilish, Smooth, Casual, Mature, Teen, or Professional. Switch styles mid-conversation with one click.

🎨 Custom Styles
Not satisfied with the built-ins? Write your own. Give your style a name, write instructions in plain English ("Be extremely blunt. One sentence max. If something is dumb, say so."), and it appears alongside the built-in ones permanently.

👤 Per-Contact Profiles
Each person you DM gets their own profile. Set the relationship label ("girl I met at a startup event", "best friend since school"), your goal for the conversation (get a date, networking, casual chat, reconnect), and personal notes that get injected into every prompt for that person — things the AI needs to know but won't learn from the chat alone.

✏️ Edit Before You Send
The generated reply is always editable. Click into it and change whatever you want. It's a starting point, not a script. Use the Refine button to ask the AI to adjust it — "make it shorter", "less formal", "add a joke" — without regenerating from scratch.

🔍 Context Panel
Tap "Context" in the popover to see exactly what the AI knows and is using — the relationship, goal, summary, inside jokes, personal notes, and recent messages. No black box.

📜 Activity Log
Every generation step is logged — what context was loaded, which model was used, how long it took, what happened if it failed. Tap the log icon to inspect it.

🔑 Your Choice of AI Provider
Connect your own API key from Claude (Anthropic), Gemini (Google), or OpenAI. Oxytocin works with whichever you already use. Free tiers are available on all three — Gemini Flash in particular is nearly free for personal use.

⚙️ Custom System Prompt
Power users can replace Oxytocin's built-in prompt entirely. Write your own instructions from scratch that override everything — tone, format, persona, output rules. Full control.

PRIVACY
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Your conversations never leave your device. There is no Oxytocin server. API keys are stored in Chrome's local storage and sent only to your chosen AI provider (Anthropic, Google, or OpenAI) — the same services you'd be using directly if you copied messages into their chat interfaces manually.

GETTING STARTED
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

1. Open Settings (gear icon) and pick your AI provider
2. Paste your API key — takes 30 seconds to get one from the provider's site
3. Go to instagram.com/direct and open any conversation
4. The floating popover appears automatically — you're ready
