About

Auto Expand helps when a page already contains collapsed content, such as “Show more” buttons, “Read more” sections, folded comment threads, or <details> blocks. It runs entirely in your browser with no backend, no sign-in, and no data collection.

What it does (when collapsible content exists)

• Detects common expand controls like “read more”, “show more”, “see more”, “view more”, “load more comments”, and similar patterns
• Safely opens collapsed <details> elements and UI sections marked as collapsed (e.g., aria-expanded="false")
• Uses conservative rules to avoid clicking navigation links, purchase actions, login flows, or destructive controls

When nothing happens (expected behavior)

Some pages simply don’t contain expandable content—such as search pages, dashboards, login screens, or static articles. In those cases, the “Expanded on page” counter may remain at 0. This is normal.

How to try it
Open a page with expandable content (FAQs, articles with “Read more”, comment threads, etc.)
Click the extension icon
Enable Auto Expand and select Apply on this site
Use Expand Now or right-click → Expand everything on this page
You’re in control

• Popup controls: global toggle, per-site toggle, expand counter, manual expand, reset for site
• Context menu: expand everything on the current page

Limits

This uses heuristic detection and may not work on all websites. Some pages limit or restructure collapsible elements, and dynamic or embedded content (like shadow DOM or iframes) may not be fully supported. To prevent loops, expansion is capped per page.

Privacy

All settings are stored locally using Chrome sync storage for preferences only. No servers are used, and no browsing content is collected or transmitted.
