Group your Google Sheets tabs into hover dropdown menus. Assign any tab to a named group: the tab bar stays clean, and hovering a grouped tab reveals all its siblings in a floating menu.No sidebars. No fancy giant folder-like tree. No new UI panels. It lives entirely inside the tab bar you already use. SheetsGroups does not send any data anywhere. No analytics, no network requests… and no hidden costs, subscriptions, fees, unlockakables. Everyone’s happy! The extension only accesses the Google Sheets tab bar to display navigation groups. It does not read, store, or transmit any spreadsheet data. Features • Hover dropdowns: grouped tabs show a floating menu on hover; click any entry to navigate • Group customization: each group has its own color, icon, and icon size • Reorder within groups: drag the order of tabs inside a dropdown with ▲▼ arrows • Rename groups: double-click a group name in the dropdown to rename it inline • Batch assign: Ctrl+click multiple tabs in Sheets, then click ▾ on any of them to assign all at once • Quick assign: hover any tab and click the small▾ to assign or reassign it to a group • Bulk assign: select one sheet or multiple sheets, go for it! • Export / Import: back up your groups, colors, and icons to a JSON file and restore them anytime • Cross-browser: It’s the same extension in Firefox, Chrome, Brave, Edge, and Opera How to use Assigning tabs to a group 1. Hover any sheet tab, you’ll notice a small ▾ button appears 2. Click ▾ to open the assign dialog 3.Type a group name (or pick one from Quick Assign if you’ve already created a group) and click Save The tab now shows a small colored icon in its top-right corner. The dialog shows "Assign group for X tabs" and assign them all at once Renaming a group Double-click the group name at the top of any hover dropdown. Edit inline and press Enter to confirm. Moving the mouse away discards the change. Reordering tabs within a group Hover a dropdown: ▲ ▼ arrows appear on each row. Click them to move that tab up or down within the group. Customizing a group (color, icon, size) Open the assign dialog for any tab in the group. Use the › toggle to open the icon picker, and the Size and Color panels on the right.
