Social media platforms are designed to keep you browsing endlessly. ScrollBlock puts you back in control. We give you the tools to physically remove addictive UI elements, set strict time limits, and build a healthier relationship with the internet so you can use these apps without falling into a rabbit hole.

🛑 The "HardBlock" (UI Cleanup)
We quietly modify website layouts to remove distraction engines while keeping core functionality intact:
• Hides Short-Form Video: Removes Shorts and Reels shelves from home feeds, sidebars, and navigation bars.
• Smart Redirects: Automatically redirects short-form video links to the normal video player so you can seek, pause, and control playback.
• Disables Discovery: Hides Explore and Discovery pages to prevent mindless browsing.

🔒 NEW: Advanced Locks & Quotas
For when you need strict boundaries, our new advanced tools keep you locked in on your work:
• Daily Minute Quotas: Set a specific daily time allowance (e.g., 15 minutes) for any supported site. Once your time is up, a hard block screen drops down, preventing further access until tomorrow.
• PIN-Protected Locks: Need zero distractions? Completely lock your biggest time-waster websites behind a secure 4-digit PIN.

For websites where you want to browse safely, our gentle notifications act as your digital conscience:
• Mindful Interruptions: Get a friendly top-bar reminder if you scroll too deep or watch short-form content for too long.
• Cross-Device Time Tracking: ScrollBlock syncs across your browsers. The nudge displays your total combined screen time for the day, giving you an honest reality check so you can close the tab on your own terms.

ScrollBlock: Focus Mode for Social Media

ScrollBlock is a browser extension designed to stop endless scrolling and manage your time on social media. It works by removing addictive UI elements and enforcing strict daily time limits.

UI Cleanup (The Hard Block)
ScrollBlock removes "distraction engines" from your favorite platforms:

👉🏻uTube: Hides all Shorts from the sidebar. Shorts are restricted to prevent infinite scrolling; you can only watch selected shorts. It also removes the mobile Shorts button and automatically redirects Shorts links to the standard, distraction-free video player.

👉🏻Insta: Completely hides the Reels button and the "Explore" page. You can still view posts from friends and saved items without falling into an infinite feed.

👉🏻FB: Removes Reels tabs and links from the interface.

👉🏻The Intelligent Nudge
ScrollBlock monitors your usage in real-time. If you scroll past 8 full screens or watch 8 short videos in a row, the extension interrupts your session with a friendly reminder. This popup displays your total screen time for the day, synced across all devices where you have added your account key.
(Note: You need an account key to sync time from multiple devices; without it, we cannot show you your total time.)

Almost all blockers remove Shorts and Reels, but no other blocker works on main feeds. We achieved this by introducing nudges; once you start scrolling the main feed on any social media site, popup messages will restrain you from scrolling further.

Advanced Site Locks & Quotas
For when you need strict boundaries:

👉🏻PIN-Protected Locks: Lock any supported platform behind a 4-digit PIN. Once locked, the site cannot be accessed until you return to the extension settings and manually unlock it.

👉🏻Daily Minute Quotas: Set a daily time limit (e.g., 15 minutes) for specific sites. Once your daily quota is exhausted, ScrollBlock displays a hard-block screen, preventing further access until the next day.

Note: We work on a total of 9 social media platforms, including all the major addictive, time-wasting sites.
