Permissions:
- storage: saves your chosen simulation or correction mode so it persists across sessions
- activeTab: applies the filter to the page you are currently viewing
- scripting: injects the SVG filter into the page to transform its colors
- alarms: schedules lightweight background timing tasks
- notifications: shows occasional status messages when relevant
