About

Fermata gives you authority over any website's clock.

Press ⌥⇧F on any page. The live DOM tilts into 3D perspective over a dark golden room — your page, frozen mid-instant, still alive and interactive.

FREEZE & STEP
Space freezes the page's clock entirely: rAF loops, timers, CSS animations, everything. Arrow keys step time forward in exact 16ms increments — each step fires the page's own scheduled work in order, so you see exactly what your eye keeps missing.

TEMPO
↑↓ moves through musical presets — grave (1/20×), largo (1/10×), adagio (¼×), andante (½×), a tempo, presto (2×). At grave, a 200ms hover transition takes four seconds.

ECHO
Point at anything that moves and press E. Fermata clones it into a fan of real DOM ghosts staggered through the animation's timeline and stacked in depth — the motion's past receding behind it, its future standing ahead — inside the page's own space.

SCRUB
While frozen, drag the page horizontally to scrub its motion forward and backward.

 RECORD
Press R to capture a frame-perfect storyboard. Fermata freezes virtual time, advances it in steps, and captures each settled frame — bypassing Chrome's 2fps screenshot limit. The storyboard opens in its own tab with flipbook playback, onion-skin ghosting, and export to contact sheet, frames, or .webm film.

Everything is one key, named in plain words. No panels. No settings. Esc restores the site exactly as you found it.

Built for designers and engineers who need to see what actually happens inside web motion.
