 🚀 How it works
Token Count accurately estimates your tokens using an optimized heuristic for LLMs:
- CJK (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) characters are counted individually.
- English words and alphanumeric sequences are accurately averaged at ~4 characters per token.
- Punctuation and symbols are handled intuitively.
(Note: As this is an offline approximation, actual token counts may vary slightly depending on the specific model's tokenizer, such as OpenAI's tiktoken or Google's sentencepiece.)

 🔒 Privacy & Permissions
This extension requires:
- `storage` permission: Used solely to save your preference of whether the token counter is enabled or disabled.
- Host Permissions (`<all_urls>`): Used to securely inject the local token-counting script into the websites you visit so it can monitor text boxes and your text selections. We do not collect, read, or export any of your browsing data or text.
