DarkPixel Twitch VOD Downloader adds a Download button next to Share on every VOD page. Click it, pick a quality, and the entire VOD downloads as one continuous video file straight to your disk. No external tools, no command line, no accounts.

★ DOWNLOADS AS ONE COMPLETE VIDEO FILE ★ The extension fetches every segment of the VOD and writes them sequentially to a single .ts video file on your hard drive. You get one file that plays from start to finish — not hundreds of small segments. The file plays in VLC, MPV, and most media players.

THIS EXTENSION DOES NOT BYPASS ANY RESTRICTIONS. It only downloads publicly viewable VODs using the same playback pipeline as every Twitch video player. Subscriber-only content requires an active subscription — the extension will show a clear message if a VOD is restricted.

HOW TO USE — STEP BY STEP

Install the extension and navigate to any Twitch VOD page (twitch.tv/videos/XXXXXXX)
Look for the DOWNLOAD button that appears next to the Share button below the video player
Click the DOWNLOAD button — a dropdown appears showing all available quality options
Each quality option shows the estimated file size (e.g. "1080p60 (1920x1080) — ~10.5 GB")
Click your preferred quality — a small save window opens
Click SAVE FILE in the save window and choose where to save the video
The download begins immediately — you can switch back to the Twitch tab
Progress is shown in both the dropdown (segment count, MB, ETA) and the save window (speed, segments written)
When complete, the save window closes automatically and you have one complete video file ready to play
IMPORTANT: Do not close the small save window while the download is in progress. Closing it will cancel the download. The Twitch tab can be used normally during the download.

DIRECT-TO-DISK — NO MEMORY BUILDUP Unlike other tools that accumulate video data in your browser's memory, this extension writes segments directly to your hard drive as they download. A 3-hour 1080p60 stream (~11 GB) downloads without using more than ~100 MB of RAM. Your browser won't slow down or crash, even for very long VODs.

QUALITY OPTIONS All qualities that Twitch makes available for the VOD are shown, typically including: • 1080p60 — Full HD at 60fps (source quality) • 720p60 — HD at 60fps • 480p — Standard definition • 360p — Low quality • 160p — Minimal quality • Audio Only — Just the audio stream

The available qualities depend on the streamer's broadcast settings and Twitch's transcoding.

SMART DOWNLOAD ENGINE • 4 concurrent download workers for fast downloads • Automatic rate limit detection with exponential backoff • CDN protection: staggered worker starts, random delays between segments, periodic cooldowns • Real-time progress: segment count, total MB, download speed (MB/s), and estimated time remaining • Cancel anytime — the partial file is cleaned up automatically
