About
Pawse blocks the sites that eat your day — YouTube, Reddit, X, Instagram, TikTok, or anything else you add — and keeps you on track with an honest browse and break timer. Most cat-themed break apps use AI-generated cat footage. Pawse uses real cat videos instead, so your break actually feels like a break, not a render. And because your timer state is saved properly, refreshing the page, closing a tab, or restarting your browser won't reset your progress. Pick up exactly where you left off. HOW IT WORKS Set your browse time and break time in minutes or hours, whatever rhythm actually works for you. During a focus session, your blocked sites stay off-limits — including tabs that were already open before the session started. When break time hits, everything opens back up for exactly as long as you set, then the cycle repeats automatically until you turn it off. FEATURES • Browse and break timer with full minute or hour control, not locked to fixed presets • Real cat videos during breaks, not AI-generated clips • Add or remove blocked sites anytime, with favicons so your list is easy to scan • Timer state persists across refreshes, new tabs, and browser restarts • Already-open tabs get blocked too, not just new ones opened after the session starts • Built-in form protection, so a block won't wipe out something you were mid-way through typing • No account required, no ads, no tracking WHY PAWSE Most blockers either nag you with a notification you can ignore or reset themselves the moment you refresh the page. Pawse is built to actually hold the line — a real timer that survives normal browsing, a blocklist you control down to the site, and a break that feels like a genuine pause instead of a guilt screen. Pawse is built and maintained by a single independent developer, not a company. It's free to use. If it saves you a few lost afternoons, you can support continued development on Ko-fi from the extension popup. PRIVACY Pawse does not collect, sell, or transmit your browsing data. Site permissions are used solely to detect and block the sites you've chosen and to display the timer overlay. Everything is stored locally in your browser.
