About

BioPilot — Read biomedical papers with a built-in integrity check.

Every year, irreproducible experiments and misidentified reagents cost researchers months of wasted bench time. BioPilot surfaces those risks while you read — and lets the research community flag them for everyone who comes after you.

What it does

💬 Structured, verified commenting — Leave a comment anchored to any passage, sorted into research-relevant categories: Reproduced, Couldn't reproduce, Missing method detail, Reagent problem, Image concern, Data/stats concern, and more. No free-for-all threads — just signal.

🪪 Trust you can verify — Comments can carry a verified ORCID ✓ badge and institution, so you know who's behind a claim. Prefer privacy? Post anonymously — you're still authenticated behind the scenes (no spam, no anonymous trolling), but your name stays hidden.

🧫 Reagent risk flags, automatically — As you read on PubMed, Nature, Cell, bioRxiv and 20+ other journals, BioPilot detects antibodies, cell lines, and plasmids (by RRID or catalog number) and shows a hover card with official details and warnings — like cell lines flagged by ICLAC as misidentified or cross-contaminated. Avoid the landmine before you order the reagent.

Why install it

Catch problematic reagents before they cost you an experiment.
See whether others could reproduce a result — the single most useful thing to know about a paper.
Contribute your own bench experience and build a verifiable record of your scientific contributions.
Built for working scientists, PhD students, and anyone who cares about reproducible research. Your email is stored only as a hash; we never sell data or run trackers.
