About

ArchWidth for iTero is a workflow assistant for dental practices using iTero intraoral scanners. It adds a single "Send to ArchWidth" button on patient pages of the iTero scanner cloud, replacing the multi-step export modal with a one-click flow.

WHAT IT DOES
  • Adds a "Send to ArchWidth" button next to the existing Export button on iTero patient pages (myitero.com scanner cloud).
  • One click downloads the patient's STL export to your Downloads folder, using the standard iTero export settings (Open Shell / File per Arch / STL).
  • Routes the downloaded file to either:
      ▸ ArchWidth by SWDP — a free local desktop app (separate install) that opens the file immediately for arch-width measurements, or
      ▸ archwidth.com — opens the third-party site with an overlay prompting you to drag the file into their upload area.
  • Shows a live progress bar with byte-level download speed.
  • Surfaces iTero server issues (HTTP errors, timeouts, expired sessions) with clear "this is an iTero problem, try signing out and back in" guidance so you don't waste time debugging your own setup.

REQUIREMENTS
  • An iTero scanner cloud account (myitero.com).
  • A license key — request one at [email protected].
  • Optional: install ArchWidth by SWDP desktop app from https://smilewithdrphil.com to route files locally.

PRIVACY
  • All data stays between your browser, iTero's cloud (which you already use), and your local computer.
  • The extension does not collect, transmit, or sell your patient data.
  • The license server (Google Apps Script) only ever sees your license key — never patient info, file contents, or browsing history.
  • A built-in "Network Capture" toggle is provided for debugging — it is OFF by default and only activates when you explicitly enable it.
