About

ReadTime -- Know How Long Any Article Takes to Read

Stop guessing how much time you need. ReadTime shows you the estimated reading time for any article or webpage, tracks your progress as you scroll, and builds a picture of your reading habits over time.

Features

Floating Reading Time Badge -- A subtle, non-intrusive pill at the top-right of any article page. Shows "5 min read" when you land, transitions to "3 min left" as you scroll, and displays "Done!" when you finish.

Scroll Progress Bar -- A sleek 3px bar fixed to the top of the page that fills with purple as you read through the content. See at a glance how far you've come.

Smart Content Detection -- Automatically finds the main article content on any webpage. Works with blogs, news sites, documentation, and more. Only activates on pages with substantial content (300+ words).

Reading Dashboard -- Open the popup to see today's stats: articles read, total reading time, and words consumed. A 7-day sparkline chart shows your reading patterns at a glance.

All-Time Stats -- Track your total articles, cumulative reading time, and average reading speed across all your browsing.

Adjustable Reading Speed -- Everyone reads at different speeds. Tune the WPM slider from 150 to 400 to match your pace and get accurate time estimates.

Full Control -- Toggle the floating badge, progress bar, and stat tracking independently. Make it yours.

Privacy First

All data stays on your device. Zero tracking. Zero analytics. Zero data collection. ReadTime uses only Chrome's local storage -- nothing is ever sent anywhere.

Who It's For

Students, researchers, professionals, and anyone who reads articles online and wants to manage their time better. Know before you start whether that article is a 2-minute skim or a 15-minute deep dive.
