About

Validata is a research workbench that lives inside Reddit. Instead of copy-pasting posts into a doc or taking screenshots, you capture what matters with a single click — and it all stays on your device.

How it works

Create a project, start a session, and browse Reddit normally. Posts are captured automatically as you navigate. For comments, just hover to highlight and click to save. When you're done, export your data as a CSV or JSON file and take it wherever your analysis happens.

Built for qualitative research

Validata is not a bulk scraper. It's for the researcher who reads Reddit carefully, makes judgment calls about what's worth keeping, and builds a curated dataset one insight at a time — customer discovery, competitor research, trend spotting, academic work.

Fully offline. No account. No limits.

Nothing leaves your browser — all data is stored locally using Chrome's storage API
No Reddit account or API key required
No usage caps, no subscription, no sign-up
Works on new Reddit and old Reddit
What you can capture

Post title and body text
Individual comments (click to select)
Timestamps, post URLs, and comment context — all configurable per project
Export formats

CSV — opens directly in Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet tool
JSON — full fidelity export with project metadata for custom processing
Permissions

Validata requests only what it needs: storage to save your data locally, scripting to inject the capture interface into Reddit pages, and access to reddit.com only. No data is ever sent anywhere.
