About

Stop reaching for your mouse. The Universal Media Controller instantly converts your standard gamepad (Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, or Generic Bluetooth) into an autonomous remote for the web.

Whether you are watching YouTube from the couch, scrubbing through a lecture, or reviewing video edits, this extension gives you absolute, frictionless control.

🔥 CORE MODES

🔀 THE DUAL-STATE SYSTEM
Your controller serves two distinct purposes. You act as the master switch, deciding when to navigate the web, and when to "lock in" as a dedicated video editing bay. Press the Y Button (or Triangle/X depending on your hardware) to instantly toggle between modes.

🌐 NAVIGATION MODE (Default)
When you load a page, you are in Navigation Mode.
• Left Stick: Drive a frictionless virtual mouse pointer across the screen.
• Right Stick: Smoothly scroll the webpage up and down.
• A / Cross Button: Left-click any link, button, or video.
• D-Pad: Fast Page Up / Page Down.
• Edge Scrolling: Push the pointer to the absolute top or bottom edge to auto-scroll.

🎬 MEDIA MODE (Press Y to Engage)
Once you find the video you want to watch, press the Y Button to engage Media Mode. The pointer disappears, and your inputs lock directly into the HTML5 video player on the page.
• Jog-Wheel Scrubbing: Rotate the Left Analog Stick to physically scrub through timelines like a professional editor. Clockwise for forward, counter-clockwise for reverse.
• A / Cross: Play / Pause.
• B / Circle: Mute / Unmute.
• Left/Right Triggers: Fast forward or rewind 30 seconds.
• D-Pad: Micro-adjust timelines in 5 and 10-second increments.

⚡ ZERO CONFIGURATION
No third-party mapping software required. The extension uses the native HTML5 Gamepad API to automatically detect your hardware profile and map the buttons universally. It works autonomously on YouTube, Netflix, Vimeo, and any site with a standard HTML5 video player.

🔒 PRIVACY FIRST
This extension runs entirely locally in your browser. It does not track your data, record your screen, or communicate with external servers. It simply listens to your local gamepad inputs and executes native browser functions.
