Changelog
- May 24, 2026description
Fastest & Beautiful Web Clipper for Obsidian Users Zero-friction capture that lands in your Obsidian vault, exactly where you want it. The extension lives between the open web and your personal knowledge base. Every interaction feels instant: select, clip, done. No copy-paste, no tab-switching, no reformatting. Your Obsidian vault structure (folders, tags, daily notes) is respected without you needing to leave the browser. ------------------------------------ What it does: Select any text on any page → hit Cmd+Shift+S (or Ctrl+Shift+S) → it's ready to be saved in Obsidian. That's the whole pitch. But there's more if you care: - Saves to any folder in your vault, with full folder tree navigation - Supports multiple vaults — switch between them anytime - Three save modes: new file every time, always append to one file, or drop into today's daily note - Tags and context notes right from the popup, before you save - Detects duplicate clips so you don't save the same thing twice - Right-click any image to save it directly — no selecting needed - Preserves hyperlinks and images inside your highlighted text - Shows vault online/offline status so you're never surprised by a failed save - All your data is saved locally Works over Local REST API (free Obsidian plugin). HTTP and HTTPS both supported. ------------------------------------ Who it's for: Researchers, writers, PKM nerds, and anyone who's tired of their "read later" pile never getting read. If your second brain lives in Obsidian, this is the missing nerve ending between the web and your vault. ------------------------------------ Changelog: v1.2.3 - Bug fixes and minor improvements — prepend toggle for Daily Note mode, fixed blank status on image clips, anonymous analytics, under the hood security and performance improvements. v1.2.2 - Save images with a right-click. Highlights now carry their links and inline images. Vault names are customizable with duplicate detection. New settings menu, What's New tab, and fresh branding. v1.2.1 - Vault switcher now shows live online/offline status per vault v1.2 - Multi-vault support — add and switch between vaults from the toolbar

Clips from the same page now collect under a single heading in your notes automatically, and those headings stay accurate even if the page title changes. Your saved highlights stay marked when you revisit a page, so you always know what you've already captured. Tag suggestions learn from your past clips and nudge you with the right tags as you save. Clip history now lives inside your vault — it survives reinstalls and syncs across devices (if saved on cloud drive). Prepend mode works for all save modes now, not just Daily Note, and saves are roughly twice as fast. The interface has been polished throughout. v1.2.3 - Bug fixes and minor improvements — prepend toggle for Daily Note mode, fixed blank status on image clips, anonymous analytics, under the hood security and performance improvements. v1.2.2 - Save images with a right-click. The fastest way to save what you're reading into Obsidian — free, local, and smart enough to never clutter your notes. Highlight text on any webpage → press ⌘ Shift S (or Ctrl Shift S on Windows) → saved. It's that simple. 1. Save to the right place, every time - Choose a specific file on the fly from a searchable index of your vault, or set a single destination for everything. Either way, your notes stay organised — not overrun. 2. Daily Note? One tap away - Saving to your daily note shouldn't mean a trip to settings. Flip the toggle and your next clip goes straight there. Flip it back just as fast. 3. Never save the same thing twice - Can't remember if you've already clipped something? QuickClip does. It quietly checks every highlight before saving and gives you a nudge — along with a link to where you saved it — if it looks like a duplicate. 4. Your notes stay on your machine - QuickClip speaks directly to your local Obsidian vault through the Local REST API plugin. Nothing touches the cloud. No account. No subscription. Free forever. 5. The details that make it feel native - Tag clips and autocomplete from tags already in your vault - Browse and search your full folder structure without leaving the extension - Open the saved note in Obsidian with one click, right after saving NOTE: Requires Obsidian with the Local REST API community plugin installed and enabled.
