Changelog
- Jun 8, 2026description
Censorix Browser Guard intercepts sensitive data before it leaves your browser. When developers paste content into AI tools or web apps, it is easy to accidentally leak API keys, database credentials, or other secrets. Censorix acts as a stateless security layer inside the browser and detects high-entropy secrets during paste and typing events. If a secret is detected, Censorix replaces it with a safe token such as: [CXR:API_KEY#1] This prevents sensitive values from reaching third-party services while allowing developers to continue working normally. Key features: • Intercepts paste and typed input in real time • Detects high-entropy secrets such as API keys • Replaces secrets with safe tokens before network requests occur • Local audit log with hashed metadata only • No centralized storage of user secrets • Runs entirely inside the browser Censorix is designed as a lightweight guardrail for developers working with AI tools and modern web applications. Important notice: Censorix is a heuristic tool that reduces the risk of accidental secret exposure. It is not a compliance system or guaranteed data loss prevention solution.
Censorix Browser Guard helps prevent accidental exposure of sensitive information while using AI assistants and modern web applications. When users paste or type content into supported sites, Censorix detects patterns associated with API keys, access tokens, credentials, and other sensitive data before the information is submitted. If a potential secret is identified, Censorix replaces it with a safe redacted token such as [CXR:OPENAI#1] to reduce the risk of accidental leakage. The extension is designed for developers, technical teams, and security-conscious users working with AI tools, email clients, collaboration platforms, and productivity software. Features: • Real-time detection of sensitive data during paste and typing events • Automatic redaction of detected secrets before submission • Support for modern web editors and AI chat interfaces • Local-only processing inside the browser • No remote servers or external data transmission • Minimal workflow interruption with safe placeholder replacement • Optional local audit logging with hashed metadata only Censorix operates only on supported sites configured in the extension permissions and does not monitor unrelated browsing activity. Important notice: Censorix is a heuristic safety tool intended to reduce the risk of accidental secret exposure. It is not a compliance product or guaranteed data loss prevention solution.
