**InsightPulse** is a private, AI-powered knowledge manager for everything you choose to save online. 

InsightPulse brings together your browser bookmarks, saved X/Twitter posts, and optional sources like Reddit and LinkedIn into a single searchable, AI-enriched archive that lives on your machine. 

CORE: X (TWITTER) BOOKMARKS
Open x.com/i/bookmarks and InsightPulse picks up every bookmarked tweet automatically — or capture individual tweets as you scroll. Full threads and long-form X articles are captured too.

• Export — Markdown with YAML frontmatter (Obsidian/Notion-ready) or JSON

THE PROBLEM
X has no folders, no tags, and no export for bookmarks — and bookmarks vanish when tweets get deleted or accounts are suspended. InsightPulse keeps a local copy with the tools X never built.

SUPPORTING: SAVE ANY WEBPAGE
Save any page with one click or a keyboard shortcut, with highlights, into the same archive as your X bookmarks — so everything you save lives in one searchable place instead of scattered across tools.

SUPPORTING, OPT-IN: REDDIT SYNC
Reddit's native saved tab is scroll-only and caps out after a few hundred items. If you enable it in Settings, InsightPulse can sync your Reddit saves via a private RSS feed you control, making your whole archive full-text searchable. This is off by default — enabling it grants reddit.com access only at that point, not at install.

PERMISSIONS
InsightPulse only requests access to X/Twitter at install. Reddit, LinkedIn, and optional cloud-AI (Groq) access are requested at runtime, only if and when you turn on that specific feature in Settings.

PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
No analytics, no tracking, no server calls beyond the destination you configure. Your bookmarks stay on your machine. The one exception is Pro licensing (see below), which reads your browser profile's email to activate a purchased subscription. The code is open source if you want to verify.

InsightPulse replaces your new tab page with a personal dashboard for your saved content that lets you chat/search across all your bookmarks. You can disable this in Chrome's extension settings at any time. Refer to the settings section on how to revert the override. At install, InsightPulse requests access only to **x.com/twitter.com** (for bookmark capture), **Hugging Face** (to download on-device AI models for local tagging and search), and our billing provider (to verify subscription status). Access to other services, such as Reddit, LinkedIn, or optional cloud AI providers, is never requested until you explicitly enable those features in Settings.

### Supporting: Pro subscription

InsightPulse Pro unlocks optional paid features on top of the free, fully local core. To activate Pro on a given browser, InsightPulse reads the email of your signed-in Chrome/Edge profile (via `chrome.identity.getProfileUserInfo`- no sign-in prompt, no OAuth flow, no extra Google permissions) and sends it to our licensing provider, CRXPay, to check for an active subscription.

This lookup only happens if you have Chrome/Edge signed in and only to link an existing purchase to that browser profile- it is not used to identify you for capture, sync, or search, all of which remain local-first as described above. If you don't use Pro, or aren't signed into your browser profile, this never triggers.
