About

CoursifyYT turns a YouTube channel's scattered uploads into a clean, ordered learning roadmap - a real curriculum instead of a flat list of videos.

Paste a channel URL. CoursifyYT crawls the channel's uploads, reads the available transcripts, and uses AI to group the videos by topic and order them from foundational to advanced - laid out as a visual bento-card map you can follow, check off, and export.


# WHAT IT DOES

  • Channel → curriculum - paste a channel link and get grouped, ordered learning stages instead of an upload feed.
  • Transcript-aware grouping - scrapes available captions so videos are organized by what they actually teach, not just their titles.
  • Visual roadmap - a bento-card map with concept groups and featured tracks.
  • Track your progress - check off videos as you watch; your progress and past roadmaps are saved locally in your browser.
  • Export - download your roadmap as JSON, PDF, or DOC.
  • Open in a tab - pop the extension out of the toolbar into a full browser tab for a roomier view.


# TWO WAYS TO USE IT

  1) Free — no API key, no sign-up
  Run a couple of roadmaps per day on our shared keys (rate-limited per user to keep it fair). The free tier supports channels with up to 100 videos.

  2) Bring your own free API keys — for larger channels
  Add your own YouTube Data API key and AI key (a ~2-minute, one-time setup) to process larger channels of up to 500 videos, with no daily limit. Your keys
  are stored only in the extension's local storage and are used to call the APIs directly from your browser — they never reach our servers.


# COMPLETE ANALYSIS, NOT PARTIAL

  CoursifyYT is all-or-nothing: it analyzes every video in a channel within the supported size, so your roadmap is never silently truncated. If a channel is
  larger than the current limit (100 videos on the free tier, 500 with your own keys), CoursifyYT tells you up front and asks you to add your own keys or
  pick a smaller channel — it will not hand you an incomplete course.


# PRIVACY

  • No accounts, no sign-up.
  • Your own API keys stay in your browser (chrome.storage.local) and are sent only to the APIs you're calling (YouTube and your AI provider).
  • In free mode, the channel URL you submit is processed on the CoursifyYT backend using our keys, and your IP is used only to enforce rate limits. We
  never receive any key from you.
  • Roadmaps may be cached by channel so popular channels don't have to be re-processed. Cached data contains only public channel/video information.
