    Simple Timesheets

Track your time, know your worth.

Simple Timesheets is a lightweight, privacy-first time tracking extension built for freelancers, contractors, and anyone who bills by the hour. Inspired by tools like Harvest, but free to get started, open source, and with no data leaving your device without your explicit permission.

    Getting started takes seconds.
Install the extension, create a project, and start the timer. No sign-up required. Your data is stored locally in your browser from the moment you open it.

    PROJECTS
Create as many projects as you need, each with:

A name and color for easy identification
    An hourly rate and currency
An optional ¼ hour rounding toggle — when enabled, all time entries for that project are automatically rounded up to the nearest 15 minutes (so 26 minutes becomes 30, 44 becomes 45, 57 becomes 60, and so on)
    TIMER
Click to start, click to stop. The timer keeps running even if you close the popup — reopen it and it picks up exactly where it left off. Add an optional memo before or after you start so you always know what that block of time was for.

    MANUAL TIME ENTRY
Prefer to log time after the fact? Enter time in H:MM format (or just plain minutes), pick a date, choose a project, and add a memo. The rounding preview shows you exactly what the entry will be saved as before you commit.

    TIMESHEETS
A dedicated ledger for all your time entries. Filter by project, browse entries grouped by date with daily totals, and edit or delete any entry directly. Everything is one tap away — no digging through menus.

    REPORTS
Generate reports instantly with no export required:

    This Week
    This Month
    This Year
    Custom date range
Each report shows total hours, total earnings, and a full per-project breakdown — including every individual time entry with its date, memo, and duration. Export any report as a CSV with one click, with projects separated and subtotals per project. Perfect for invoicing or end-of-month reviews.

    YOUR DATA, YOUR DRIVE
Simple Timesheets is built on a simple principle: your data belongs to you.

All time entries and projects are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage
Nothing is ever sent to our servers
No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking of any kind
Export your full data as a JSON file at any time from the Settings panel
Import a backup just as easily — great for moving between machines
Optional Google Drive sync lets you back up and sync your data across browsers using your own Google Drive account. Your data is stored in a private, hidden application folder that is invisible in the Google Drive UI and only accessible by Simple Timesheets when you are signed in. We never have access to it.

    OPEN SOURCE
Every line of code is publicly available on GitHub. You don't have to take our word for it — read it yourself.

Simple Timesheets is free to get started. We're just getting started too.
