The extension icon badge shows when your tabs need attention.
It counts:

- unused tabs that have been sitting idle
- duplicate tabs you've accidentally opened
- Open the popup to instantly review what’s worth closing.

⏱ Unused tab detection
Tab Curator tracks the last time you actually looked at each tab.
Once a tab sits untouched past your threshold (default: 30 minutes, fully adjustable), it’s flagged as expired.

You stay in control.

Click Review to see only expired and duplicate tabs, or Close to close all expired tabs with one click.

🔍 Deep search — find text inside any open tab
Normal tab search only looks at titles and URLs.
Deep search goes further.

It scans the visible text inside your open pages so you can find the information you remember, even if you forgot the tab title.

Search results include a snippet of matching content. Click a result and the matching text is highlighted directly on the page.

🔁 Duplicate tab detection
Opened the same page twice without realizing it?

Tab Curator detects duplicate URLs across all your tabs and clearly shows which one is the copy.
No more mystery duplicates wasting space.

🔒 Tab protection
Some tabs should never be closed.

Lock any tab and it becomes fully protected:

- never flagged as expired
- never auto-closed
- never included in cleanup

Protection follows the URL, not the tab.
If you close and reopen that page later, it remains protected automatically.
Pinned tabs are auto-protected by default (configurable).

You can also protect tabs via:
- the popup
- right-click context menu
- keyboard shortcut
