TabVacuum fights Tab Fatigue. One click saves every open tab into an organized session, then cleans up your browser window.

HOW IT WORKS
Click the TabVacuum icon in your toolbar. All your open tabs are instantly saved — titles, URLs, favicons, and page content — into a local session. Your tabs close, and a clean dashboard opens.

DASHBOARD
A three-panel layout lets you browse saved sessions on the left, view tab cards in the middle, and preview pages or chat with AI on the right. All three panels are resizable by dragging the dividers.

SESSION MANAGEMENT
- Every vacuum creates a timestamped session
- Rename sessions manually or let AI generate smart names
- Restore all tabs from any session with one click
- Delete sessions or individual tabs you no longer need

SEARCH
- Instant local search filters tabs by title, URL, page content, and group
- AI-powered semantic search finds tabs by meaning, not just keywords

AI FEATURES (Optional — Requires Your Own OpenAI API Key)
- Smart Naming: AI generates descriptive session names from tab content
- Smart Grouping: AI organizes tabs into color-coded categories automatically
- Summarize: Get 3-bullet-point summaries of any saved page
- Session Chat: Ask questions about your saved tabs with full content context

PRIVACY & SECURITY
- All data stored locally on your device using IndexedDB
- No data is ever sent to our servers — we don't have any
- AI features are optional and use your own OpenAI API key
- Your API key is stored in your browser's local storage
- Page content is extracted locally and never leaves your machine unless you use AI features
- Open source and transparent

SAFE VACUUM PROCESS
- Tabs are never closed until the save is confirmed (atomic operation)
- The dashboard tab is always preserved during vacuuming
- Internal browser pages (settings, extensions, new tab) are handled gracefully
- Sites that block iframe previews show a fallback with captured content
