About

JSTools JSON Inspector is a privacy-first viewer for JSON and API responses. It
runs only when you click the toolbar icon, keeps everything on your device, and
shows your data exactly as received.

WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT

• Lossless — big integers, high-precision decimals and integer-like key order are
preserved exactly. The Raw view is never re-serialised.
• Private — installs with no host permissions, no analytics, no telemetry, no
network requests. Nothing leaves your browser.
• Queryable — first-class JSONPath with live results, plus one-click copy of
JSONPath and JSON Pointer for any node.

FEATURES

• Tree view — virtualized for large documents, keyboard navigable, expand/collapse,
syntax colouring, element and key counts.
• Raw view — exact original response, word-wrap toggle, copy and download.
• Query view — JSONPath with debounced live execution, copy result / copy result
path / download, and a local-only history of your last 10 queries.
• Global search across keys and values (Ctrl/Cmd+F) with match count, next/previous
  and auto-reveal.
• Per-node context menu: copy value, key, object, raw value, JSONPath, JSON Pointer,
  expand/collapse subtree.
• Light and dark themes. Safe link opening (https/http/mailto only).

PERMISSIONS

Installs with only activeTab, scripting, storage and clipboardWrite — and no host
access. Auto-format for a specific site is an optional, per-domain permission you
can grant and revoke yourself.

Handles documents up to ~10 MB while staying responsive (parsing and queries run
in a Web Worker; the tree is virtualized).
