  Good prompts are craft. The difference between a generic image and a striking one is often a paragraph of carefully-tuned language — lighting, camera, style, mood, negatives. The difference between mediocre and great LLM output is the same. Once you've found a prompt that works, you'll want to use it again, tweak it, share it, build on it.
  
  KeyPrompt is the lightest possible tool for keeping those prompts close at hand. Cmd-click (Mac) or Ctrl-click (Win/Linux) any chat input on any AI tool — including ChatGPT, Claude, and others — and a small modal appears with your saved prompts. Pick one. It's in the field. No more digging through a notes app or dozens of open browser tabs.
  
  You can also right-click any input and pick "🔑 Insert with KeyPrompt" from the OS context menu.

  1. Click the KeyPrompt icon in your toolbar to open the prompt library.
  2. Add your prompts — organize them into sections like "Image prompts," "Code helpers," "System prompts."
  3. On any AI tool, Cmd-click (Mac) or Ctrl-click (Win/Linux) inside the prompt box — OR right-click and pick "🔑 Insert with KeyPrompt."
  4. The modal appears with your library, searchable.
  5. Type to filter, arrow keys to navigate, Enter to insert.
  6. Done — the prompt is in the field, the modal closes.

  KeyPrompt requests these permissions for a single, specific reason — never for tracking or data collection.
  
  • "Read and change all your data on all websites" — required to detect Cmd-click on prompt boxes and insert text. KeyPrompt does not read page content; it only reacts when you intentionally trigger it.
  
  • Storage — to save your prompts locally on your computer.
  
  • Scripting + Tabs — to refresh KeyPrompt cleanly across your open tabs whenever the extension is updated, so you never have to manually reload.
  
  • Context menus — to show "🔑 Insert with KeyPrompt" in the right-click menu.

  KeyPrompt puts your best prompts — and your notes — one keystroke away, on every site.

  • Prompts — your library, organized by category. Pick a category, click a prompt, and it's inserted into the field you clicked (or copied if there's no field).
  • Notion — connect your Notion account to browse a page as a live, nested outline. View, edit, add, and delete items without leaving the page you're on.
  • WorkFlowy — connect WorkFlowy to browse your outline as a live tree, with inline editing and drag-and-drop to move items to a new parent.
  • Notes — a quick scratch pad that's always there and remembers what you typed.
  
  BUILT FOR AI WORKFLOWS
  Works in every major LLM and generation tool and in any ordinary text field on the web. It uses the native value setter and fires input events, so React/Vue/Svelte editors register the inserted text.
  
  PRIVATE BY DESIGN
  • Your prompts, notes, and settings live locally in your browser. No account, no KeyPrompt server.
  • No analytics, tracking, or ads.
  • Notion and WorkFlowy are optional. If you connect them, your API key is sent only to that service to show and edit your own content — never to anyone else.
  
  CUSTOMIZE IT
  Open Settings to manage your prompt library, show/hide and reorder the panel's cards, and connect Notion or WorkFlowy.
