Animana Notes AI is a Chrome extension built for veterinary professionals using IDEXX Animana. It eliminates the time-consuming task of writing clinical records by combining AI generation with direct auto-fill into Animana's forms — so you can focus on your patients instead of your keyboard.

🩺 GENERATE SOAP NOTES IN SECONDS
Describe your consultation in plain shorthand — the AI writes the full structured clinical note for you. The extension automatically reads the patient's details, signalment, recent history, appointment notes, and product charges from the open Animana page for full clinical context.

Reads patient name, species, breed, sex, age, weight, and microchip directly from Animana
Scrapes recent consultation history, medications, and charged products for clinical continuity

📋 PATIENT HISTORY SUMMARY
Before a consult, switch to the Patient Hx tab and click Summarise. The AI reads the full patient history and produces a structured clinical briefing you can read in under a minute:

Active problems and current concerns
Current medications with doses
Surgical and procedure history
Vaccination and preventive care status
Lab results and diagnostic findings
Clinical trends such as weight changes and recurring issues

Sections are colour-coded by urgency and collapsible so you can focus on what matters most.

🔪 AI-POWERED SURGICAL RECORDS
The Surgery tab generates complete operative reports from your patient's charges. Select the surgery type and the AI automatically identifies anaesthetic drugs from the billed products, maps them to their generic names, calculates mg/kg doses from the patient's weight, and writes a full surgical record across all Animana surgery form fields — premedication, induction, maintenance, anaesthesia course, surgical technique, pain management, and post-operative notes.

Drug dictionary maps Animana product names to generics automatically (Sedastart → Dexmedetomidine, PropoVet → Propofol, Iso-vet → Isoflurane, etc.)
Cardiac status selector applies appropriate contraindication guidance for HCM, PS, SAS, MMVD, and DCM patients
Auto-fills directly into the Animana Surgery form with one click

A full horizontal dental chart matching the Ranzijn/Animana layout for canine and feline patients:

Score cells for CI, GI, PI, Furcation, Mobility, Resorption, Missing, and Extracted
Quadrant presets set CI/GI/PI for all teeth in a quadrant in one click
AI generates a structured dental report grouped by quadrant with per-tooth treatment recommendations
Exports the chart as a PNG and uploads it directly to the patient's Animana attachments

🔒 PRIVACY FIRST
Your Anthropic API key is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to the extension developer. Patient data is sent only to Anthropic's API — which you control via your own API key — solely to generate note text. No data is collected, stored, or shared by the extension developer.

HOW TO USE
Install the extension and add your Anthropic API key in Settings (⚙)
Open a patient's file in Animana
Click the extension icon — patient data loads automatically
Type your consultation notes in plain English or shorthand
Click Generate → review the AI-generated note
Click "Fill all into Animana" — done

An Anthropic API key (available at console.anthropic.com — pay-per-use, typically a few cents per consultation)
Access to IDEXX Animana at your clinic's URL
