About
Folara is a private-by-default browser capture tool for serious reading, research, and developer knowledge work. Save useful things from the web without turning capture into clutter. With the Folara extension, you can: - save the current page - save selected text with its source page - save a focused link - save all open tabs only after confirmation - add an optional note while context is still fresh - choose an optional collection when you already know where something belongs Folara is built for deliberate capture, not passive hoarding. The goal is simple: make it easy to keep pages, snippets, links, and research inputs that matter, while keeping the save flow calm and trustworthy. Why Folara Folara is designed for developers, researchers, and focused readers who want a clean way to capture useful material from the browser. It is not a generic bookmark dump. It is not a noisy “save everything” tool. And it is not built around passive background collection. Folara keeps capture compact first, then lets you add just enough structure when it helps: - current page first - selected text and link capture next - optional note and collection when useful - deliberate confirmation for bulk tab saves What you can save - Current page: save the page you are on directly from the extension - Selected text: save a meaningful passage together with its source - Link: save a focused link cleanly from the browser - Tab set: save all open tabs only after a confirmation step Optional structure at capture time When context matters, Folara lets you: - add a quick note - choose an existing collection These are optional by design. The extension stays light and does not force organization before capture. Private by default Folara is built around explicit user action. The extension captures only what you ask it to capture, when you ask it to. Signed-in saves happen directly from the extension. If sign-in is needed, Folara falls back to its normal secure web sign-in flow so the save can finish properly. Why tab access is requested Folara asks for tab access so it can read the title and URL of the page or tab set you explicitly choose to save. This is especially important for: - saving the current page - preparing a confirmed bulk save for the current window Folara does not use tab access to silently monitor browsing activity, and bulk save is always a deliberate, confirmed action. Designed for real knowledge work Folara works best for: - technical reading - research capture - reference gathering - collecting source material - keeping useful context from the web without losing flow If you want calm browser capture with a private-by-default default, Folara is built for that.
