Built to align with key aspects of WCAG 2.2 guidelines, Accesstra currently supports auditing of the most common Level A and AA criteria,(Level AAA support is planned for future updates). Whether you're an experienced developer or new to accessibility, Accesstra offers an intuitive interface and practical tools to support compliance and inclusivity.

How It Works

Accesstra integrates seamlessly with Chrome DevTools, adding a dedicated accessibility auditing panel to your browser. After installing the extension and logging in with your Accesstra account (required for full functionality), you can initiate an audit on any webpage. The extension analyzes the page's content, structure, and functionality, providing a report on supported accessibility barriers. Results are displayed in a user-friendly dashboard, where you can apply filters, view statistics, and export data as JSON or PDF reports for further analysis or sharing.

Key Features

Customizable Auditing Options: Tailor audits with checks for images (e.g., missing or existing alt text), attributes, contrast issues, and keyboard navigation testing. Enable or disable options as needed.
Accessibility Score: Receive a visual score (0-100%) based on identified barriers within supported criteria, displayed as an animated circular gauge. A higher score suggests better accessibility in audited areas.
Detailed Statistics: View a breakdown of barriers within supported categories, including total issues, image-related problems, contrast errors, tab navigation failures, and AI-fixable rules (limited to covered WCAG levels A and AA).
Filters for Precision: Filter results by WCAG level (All, A, AA) or show only fixable issues to focus on actionable improvements.
Real-Time Highlighting: Automatically injects a CSS style to highlight supported accessibility issues on the page with a red border and shadow, aiding quick identification.
AI-Powered Suggestions: Enable AI-driven recommendations to address fixable issues within supported criteria (requires login and activation in settings).
Export Capabilities: Export audit results as a JSON file or generate two PDF types:
Technical Report: A detailed report with explanations of findings within supported criteria.
Simplified WCAG Report: A concise overview marking violations of supported WCAG rules with an "X."
Preview and Download Options: Preview reports in a new tab or download them as PDFs with timestamps (e.g., accesstra-audit-report-10-06-2025.pdf or accesstra-wcag-report-10-06-2025.pdf).
Dark Mode Support: Switch between light and dark themes with automatic color adjustments for optimal readability.
Settings Panel: Access a settings panel (via the gear icon) to configure audit options, toggle AI suggestions, switch themes, read about and log out securely.
Error Handling: Displays clear error messages with retry mechanisms to ensure reliability.
Installation and Usage

Install Accesstra from the Chrome Web Store by clicking "Add to Chrome" (requires Chrome version 88 or higher).
Open Chrome DevTools (right-click > Inspect or press Ctrl+Shift+I), and locate the Accesstra panel via the extension icon.
Log in with your Accesstra account to unlock full features.
Click the settings icon to open the Settings Panel and configure audit options or toggle AI suggestions.
Use the "Start Audit" button in the dashboard to begin an audit.
Review results, apply filters, and export or generate reports as needed.
