**What you can do**

**Viewer tab**
- Upload HEIC/HEIF (drag & drop or file picker)
- Photos appear one by one as they decode—no waiting for the whole batch
- Zoom, pan, keyboard shortcuts, and **fullscreen viewer window**
- Thumbnail strip to switch photos
- Read EXIF / camera metadata when available
- Download the current photo as JPG, or pack all previews into one ZIP

**Convert to JPG / Convert to PNG tabs**
- Add multiple HEIC files to a queue
- Choose JPG quality (high / balanced / smaller file)
- Convert to PNG for lossless output
- Download single files or everything as ZIP

**Live Photo aware**
- If a file is an Apple Live Photo (still image + embedded video), the still photo previews and converts normally
- To extract the **motion video**, use the link to **HEIC.best**—our website handles Live video, PDF, and advanced cases

**When a file cannot be decoded here**
- Some damaged, unusual, or video-only containers may fail
- The extension suggests **HEIC.best** for PDF conversion, Live video extraction, and stronger decoding—optional, only when you click

**Privacy & permissions**

- **Local processing only** for HEIC viewing and conversion
- **Side Panel & Popup** — your workspace inside Chrome
- **Downloads** — save JPG, PNG, and ZIP files you choose
- **Context menu** — open the viewer from a right-click

**How to start**

1. Install the extension
2. Click the toolbar icon or right-click → **Open HEIC Viewer**
3. Drop `.heic` / `.heif` files into the Side Panel
4. Preview, convert, or download
