About

If you resize browser windows by dragging them to screen edges every day—or open a second window just to compare two pages—DualView replaces that routine with one keyboard shortcut.

DualView brings Magnet-style window snapping to Google Chrome—including on macOS, where the same muscle memory applies. Snap windows to 50% of the screen or split your workspace side by side without touching the mouse.

Default shortcuts
Windows / Linux

Split screen: Alt+Shift+1
Snap left 50%: Alt+Shift+2
Snap right 50%: Alt+Shift+3
Restore fullscreen: Alt+Shift+4
macOS

Split screen: Option(⌥)+Shift+1
Snap left 50%: Option(⌥)+Shift+2
Snap right 50%: Option(⌥)+Shift+3
Restore fullscreen: Option(⌥)+Shift+4
On Mac, manifest Alt maps to the Option (⌥) key. You can customize shortcuts anytime in the extension popup.

What DualView does
Split screen (Alt+Shift+1 / Mac: ⌥+Shift+1)
Snaps the current window to the left 50% and opens a new Chrome window with the same URL on the right 50%.
Ideal for docs + reference, code + output, or any side-by-side workflow.

Snap left / right (Alt+Shift+2 / 3 · Mac: ⌥+Shift+2 / 3)
Resizes the active window to the left or right half of the current monitor.

Restore fullscreen (Alt+Shift+4 · Mac: ⌥+Shift+4)
Restores the pre-snap window size, or expands to the monitor workArea if no prior size was saved.

Customizable shortcuts
View and change shortcuts from the extension popup—no extra tabs required.

Multi-monitor support
Calculations use the monitor where the window is located, based on each display’s workArea (excluding taskbar/dock).

Who it’s for
Developers & QA: Compare admin vs. user views, API docs vs. app UI
Researchers & analysts: Paper + notes, dashboard + spreadsheet side by side
Everyday work: Shopping comparison, translation + source page, tutorial + practice tab
Privacy
No data sent to external servers
No user data collected or stored
All window operations run locally via Chrome APIs
DualView exists for one job: fast window split and snap. Try Alt+Shift+1 (Mac: ⌥+Shift+1) once after install and feel the difference.
