About

👻 Ghost Typer - Practice Typing on Real Web Content

During my journey to improve my speed typing skills, I realized I wanted to practice on real articles and blog posts, not just random words. That's why I created Ghost Typer – a Chrome extension that transforms any web article into an interactive typing practice session.

✨ HOW IT WORKS
Ghost Typer automatically detects blog posts and articles on any website. When activated, it dims the article text and reveals it character-by-character as you type correctly – just like Monkeytype, but with real content you actually want to read!

🎯 KEY FEATURES
• 📰 Auto-detect articles on blogs, Medium, Wikipedia, Dev.to, and more
• ⌨️ Real-time typing practice with instant feedback
• 📊 Live statistics: WPM, accuracy, mistakes, and progress tracking
• 🎨 5 beautiful themes: Dark, Light, Ocean, Forest, and Monochrome
• 🎮 Draggable stats overlay that stays out of your way
• ⚙️ Customizable settings: dimming intensity, auto-detect, and more
• ⌨️ Quick access with Alt+G keyboard shortcut
• 💾 Session history to track your improvement over time

💡 WHY GHOST TYPER?
Instead of typing random words or pre-selected quotes, Ghost Typer lets you:
• Practice typing while reading content you're interested in
• Improve your speed on real-world text patterns
• Make productive use of your reading time
• Build muscle memory with actual sentences and technical terms

🚀 GETTING STARTED
1. Navigate to any blog post or article
2. Click the Ghost Typer icon or press Alt+G
3. Start typing from the beginning
4. Watch your WPM improve!

⚠️ FIRST VERSION - YOUR FEEDBACK MATTERS

• Leave a detailed review
