About

SonarPen Web App Driver helps Chromebook users use SonarPen with supported web drawing apps.

SonarPen is an affordable pressure-sensitive stylus for drawing and writing with natural line variation. Product information is available at SonarPen’s website, www.sonarpen.com.

This extension is designed for ChromeOS devices where the native Windows SonarPen driver is not available. It helps users open supported drawing apps, launch the packaged SonarPen driver, and complete first-time setup so pressure detection can work in the browser.

What it does:

- opens supported drawing apps from the extension
- launches the SonarPen driver in the app tab
- provides first-time setup guidance for Chromebook users
- helps users check audio settings and microphone permission needed for pressure detection

Setup overview:

1. Plug in SonarPen and set the volume to maximum
2. Make sure SP1 is selected as both Output and Input, with input volume at maximum
3. Open a supported app from the extension
4. Launch the driver
5. Click Start
6. Allow microphone access when prompted
7. Click Calibrate when SonarPen is detected

Important:

- This extension is intended primarily for Chromebook users
- Windows users should normally use the native SonarPen driver instead
- Microphone access is required because SonarPen pressure is detected through the audio path
- Compatibility may vary if a supported web app changes its input handling
