Ever open YouTube to watch one video and end up scrolling for an hour? Yeah, me too. That's why I built CleanTube.

It blocks ads (pre-roll, mid-roll, banners — all of them), removes Shorts from your feed completely, and gives you a bunch of tools to make YouTube less addictive and more useful.

Here's what it does:

BLOCK ADS
No more waiting 5 seconds to skip. CleanTube auto-skips video ads and hides all the promoted junk from your feed and search results.

REMOVE SHORTS
Shorts disappear from your homepage, search, and sidebar. If you accidentally click a Shorts link, it redirects to the normal video player instead.

SAFE MODE
Filters out explicit and inappropriate content based on video titles. Good if you share your browser with kids or just want a cleaner feed.

FOCUS MODE
Hides the sidebar recommendations, comments, and those annoying end-screen popups on watch pages. Just you and the video. The player goes full width too.

CLEAN HOMEPAGE
Replaces the entire YouTube homepage with a clean screen — just search and links to your Subscriptions and Library. No more rabbit holes.

BLOCK KEYWORDS
Add words like "prank" or "reaction" and any video with those words in the title gets hidden. Simple.

DARK & LIGHT THEME
Works with both. Toggle with one click.

KEYBOARD SHORTCUT
Alt+Y on Windows, ⌥+Y on Mac. Turns CleanTube on or off instantly without opening the popup.

It's lightweight, doesn't collect any data, doesn't need an account, and stores everything locally on your device.
