Discord Translator+ turns every Discord chat into a living language-learning playground.

Unlike generic translators, Discord Translator+ is built for people who actually want to read and learn the language — not just see what was said in English. Foreign-language messages are translated inline AND shown alongside their romanized pronunciation, so you learn vocabulary and pronunciation in the flow of normal conversation.

TWO TRANSLATION BACKENDS
═══════════════════════════════════════

🟢 GOOGLE (default, free, no setup)
   Uses Google's public translation endpoint. No account, no key, no signup. Works out of the box for over 100 languages. Romaji and pinyin still appear because we generate them client-side using wanakana and pinyin-pro libraries — no server round-trip needed.

🟣 GEMINI (BYOK — bring your own key)
   Plug in your own free Google Gemini API key for noticeably better translation of slang, idioms, and casual chat. Gemini reads context better, so "lol that was so based" gets translated correctly instead of literally. Get a free Gemini key at aistudio.google.com (1500 requests/day free tier — way more than most users need).

SUPPORTED LANGUAGES

Translation: 100+ languages including Japanese, Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), Korean, Spanish, French, German, Russian, Arabic, Hebrew, Thai, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Hindi, and many more.

Romanization: Japanese (romaji via wanakana), Chinese (pinyin with tone marks via pinyin-pro), Korean (Revised Romanization with liaison handling), Russian / Ukrainian / Bulgarian (BGN/PCGN-style Cyrillic romanization), Hebrew (consonant skeleton; vowel-pointed text is supported), Arabic / Persian / Urdu (consonant skeleton; full diacritic support), Thai (RTGS-flavored char-by-char with leading-vowel reordering — output is marked "(approximate)" because tone classes and complex vowel frames need a syllabifier we haven't shipped yet).
