What Purify Does

Purify scans your ChatGPT prompt for personally identifiable information (PII) — emails, phone numbers, SSNs, credit card numbers, IPv4 addresses, GPS coordinates — and replaces them with safe placeholder tags. You stay in full control of what gets sent.

There are two modes:

- Purify: Redact only, so you can review and adjust before sending
- Purify + Send: Redact and submit in one click, ideal when you're in a rush

The UI shows floating buttons next to the composer in ChatGPT. The redaction mapping is held locally on your device, so nothing sensitive ever leaves your browser.
