HOW IT WORKS

1. Click the ScriptScroller.com icon in your Chrome toolbar. (First time? Click the puzzle-piece menu at the top right of Chrome, then pin ScriptScroller.com so the icon stays visible.)
2. Paste your script in the popup editor.
3. Tap Start. The side panel slides in beside your current tab.
4. The text scrolls automatically. Use the controls to play, pause, restart, or adjust speed and font size.
5. Position the panel next to your webcam circle for the most natural eye line.

PRIVACY

Your scripts never leave your device.

They're stored in your browser's local storage only — not on any server.

The extension makes no network requests as part of normal use. When you click "Open in ScriptScroller.com" in the side panel, the script is passed to the web app via the URL fragment (#…), which browsers do not transmit to servers — the script content never reaches any server.

WHY A CHROME EXTENSION

The web version of ScriptScroller.com is a full-page teleprompter — great when you have a second monitor. This extension solves the "I only have one screen" problem by docking the prompter into Chrome's side panel, so you can keep your meeting, slides, recording software, or stream UI fully visible while still reading from a real teleprompter.

• Storage — to save your scripts and settings on your device.
• Side Panel — to render the teleprompter in Chrome's docked side panel.

That's it. Two permissions. The extension requests NO host permissions, NO scripting permission, NO activeTab permission, NO context menus, and NO ability to read any webpage. When you click "Open in ScriptScroller.com" in the side panel, your script is passed via the URL fragment — which browsers never transmit to servers — and prefills the editor on scriptscroller.com.

The extension does NOT read or modify any other webpage.
