Stream Genie

Stream Genie is a Chrome extension that reads pixels from a Twitch stream or Youtube video and shows community-built annotations when you hover over recognized items. No streamer setup required. No game API. It runs entirely in your browser.

Think of it like Steam's controller profiles — Stream Genie is the framework. The community builds the knowledge, one game at a time.

How it works:
Open any Twitch stream or Youtube video. Stream Genie detects the game from the Twitch category. Click the toolbar icon to select a community profile for that game.
Hover over items in the video — cards, relics, icons, anything the community has annotated.
A popup appears near your cursor. Move away and it disappears.
Matching is done locally in your browser using perceptual image hashing, verified with normalized cross-correlation. It tolerates partial occlusion (a tooltip or overlapping card covering part of the icon), rotation, and items that render at a different size than they were captured at. Nothing is sent to a server during normal use.

Have a game that you love or made that doesn't have a profile?  Make your own!  In browser tools let you build triggers right in your browser.  You can share the profile with trusted contributors or the community can suggest triggers that you approve.
