SOI Managed Browser Verification is a security extension built for authorized users of School of Interns and SOI Directory.

This extension helps verify that a user is signing in to SOI Directory from an approved organization-managed browser profile. It works with accounts.soi.co.in to confirm that the browser profile has been registered by the organization before access to protected internal systems is allowed.

The extension is intended for internal use by School of Interns users, team members, interns, administrators, and other authorized organization accounts.

What this extension does:

• Confirms that the approved SOI Managed Browser Verification extension is installed.
• Allows SOI Directory to communicate securely with the extension during setup and login.
• Helps register the browser profile through a one-time setup link.
• Creates a local cryptographic browser identity for the browser profile.
• Uses signed challenge responses to help SOI Directory verify that the sign-in is coming from the registered browser profile.
• Supports organization-controlled access policies for SOI Directory and connected internal applications.

How it works:

When an authorized user opens their SOI browser setup link, the extension helps generate a browser-profile registration. The private key stays inside the browser extension storage, while SOI Directory stores the public registration information. During login, SOI Directory sends a challenge request, and the extension signs the response so the server can verify the registered browser profile.

This helps the organization reduce access from personal, unmanaged, or unapproved browser profiles.

Important:

This extension is only useful for authorized SOI Directory users. It requires access to accounts.soi.co.in and must be used with the correct organization account and browser profile.

Privacy and data handling:

The extension is designed for browser verification only. It does not collect browsing history, keystrokes, passwords, OTPs, personal messages, page content, or unrelated website activity. It only communicates with the approved SOI Directory domain required for browser setup and sign-in verification.
