About

unblockAnyThing is a fast, private proxy switcher and proxy manager for Chrome. Save the proxy servers you already have (SOCKS5, SOCKS4, HTTP, or HTTPS) and turn them on or off in one click, for every site or only the ones you pick. It's a modern, Manifest V3 alternative to older proxy switchers, and everything stays on your device.

You bring the proxy and stay in control. unblockAnyThing never routes, logs, or sees your traffic. It just tells Chrome to use the proxy you provide, through the official chrome.proxy API. There are no accounts, no sign-up, and no tracking, and every feature is free.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
• One-click on/off: flip your proxy from the toolbar or a keyboard shortcut, with a clear ON or AUTO badge on the icon.
• Unlimited proxy profiles: add, name, edit, duplicate, and delete as many proxies as you want, then choose the active one.
• Works with your provider: SOCKS5, SOCKS4, HTTP, and HTTPS proxies from Bright Data, Webshare, Oxylabs, IPRoyal, or any standard server.
• Paste any format: a proxy URL (user:pass@host:port), an ip:port:user:pass line, a socks5h:// link, or a Shadowsocks ss:// link. Each one is parsed and validated for you, and you can paste a whole list to add many at once.
• Auto-detect the protocol: not sure whether your proxy is HTTP or SOCKS? unblockAnyThing probes it and sets the right scheme.
• Per-site auto-switch rules: route only the sites you list through the proxy and send everything else direct, PAC-style. This works on its own, even while the master switch is off.
• Per-site bypass list: keep chosen domains always direct, even when the proxy is on.
• Test proxy: check reachability and latency, and see your live exit IP and country before you browse.
• Authenticated proxies: it supplies the username and password you saved (HTTP/HTTPS).
• Backup and restore: export and import your proxy profiles as JSON.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Your proxy profiles, credentials, and settings are stored only in chrome.storage.local on your computer. The one network request unblockAnyThing makes is the one you trigger yourself: the "Test proxy" IP check, sent through your own proxy. There is no telemetry, no remotely hosted code, and nothing is ever uploaded.

PERMISSIONS, IN PLAIN ENGLISH
• proxy: to apply and clear your chosen proxy in Chrome.
• storage: to save your profiles and settings locally.
• webRequest and webRequestAuthProvider: only to answer your proxy's login prompt with the credentials you saved.
• Access to all sites: because a proxy login prompt can appear on any site. Page content is never read.

GOOD TO KNOW
Chrome cannot authenticate SOCKS proxies, which is a browser limitation. For a proxy that needs a username and password, use its HTTP or HTTPS endpoint. unblockAnyThing warns you about this and offers a one-click switch. For geo-restricted sites, remember that the website sees the proxy's exit country, not yours.

WHO IT'S FOR
Developers and QA, web scraping and automation, checking how a site behaves from another network, privacy-minded browsing, and anyone who already has a proxy and wants the simplest way to use it in Chrome.

Bring your own proxy, switch it on, and stay private. Free, forever.
