About

ITD Data Fetcher automates downloading authorized Income Tax documents from the official Income Tax e-Filing portal and its linked government portals — no manual navigation needed.

📄 What it downloads
• ITR-V Acknowledgement (PDF)
• Filed Return JSON
• Complete ITR Form
• Form 26AS (Tax Credit Statement)
• Annual Information Statement (AIS)
• Taxpayer Information Summary (TIS)

⚡ Key features
• Single PAN or bulk CSV mode — process multiple accounts in one run
• Multiple assessment years in a single session (e.g. 2023-24, 2024-25, 2025-26)
• Automatic descriptive filenames: ITR-V_ABCDE1234F_2025-26.pdf, AIS_ABCDE1234F_2024-25.pdf
• Pauses and waits for OTP / CAPTCHA, then continues automatically
• Automatically dismisses portal navigation warnings and "already logged in" session popups
• Automatic logout between accounts in bulk mode

🔒 Credential security
• Credentials are held only in chrome.storage.session — cleared when Chrome restarts
• Passwords are never sent anywhere except the official Income Tax portal
• Each password is deleted from storage immediately after a successful login
• "Stop and Clear" wipes all remaining credentials instantly

📋 How to use
1. Open the official e-Filing login page (eportal.incometax.gov.in)
2. Click the ITD Data Fetcher toolbar icon
3. Choose Single PAN or upload a Bulk CSV (PAN, Password columns)
4. Enter assessment years separated by commas, e.g. 2023-24, 2024-25
5. Select which document types to download
6. Click "Fetch Selected Data" — the extension handles navigation and downloading

⚠️ Important notes
• Use only for accounts you are authorized to access
• OTP and CAPTCHA must be completed manually — the extension pauses and waits
• Form 26AS downloads via traces.cpc.gov.in; AIS/TIS via insight.gov.in — both official government portals
• Incognito mode is not supported
