About

Image Compressor — Resize & Convert lets you shrink, resize, and convert
photos and screenshots without uploading anything, anywhere. Every
operation runs locally in the extension's own page, using the browser's
built-in <canvas> — no server, no cloud processing, no wasm codec.

Click the toolbar icon to open the tool in its own tab — not a popup, so
an in-progress batch compress survives you switching tabs to go find
another image.

FREE, AND GENUINELY USEFUL
- Works with PNG, JPG, WebP, and GIF images.
- Compress one image at a time: pick a format (JPG, PNG, or WebP) and a
  quality level.
- Resize by a maximum dimension (e.g. "no side over 1600px") or by a
percentage of the original — aspect ratio always preserved, never
  upscaled.
- Convert between JPG, PNG, and WebP.
- Instant before/after file-size readout.
- Every exported image is automatically stripped of EXIF, GPS, and all
other original metadata — for every image, free or premium. This is a
property of how the compression pipeline works (canvas re-encoding
only ever produces pixel data), not a paid feature.

PREMIUM ($5 one-time)
- Batch: compress multiple images in one action, instead of one at a time.
- Target-file-size mode: tell it a target size in KB and it searches for
the quality that gets you there (closest achievable, if an exact hit
  isn't possible).
- Saved presets: name and re-apply a format/quality/resize configuration
later, without re-typing it — stored only on your device.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
This extension never reads the current tab or any web page — it only
processes image files you explicitly drag in or select. It requests
exactly one permission, storage, used only to save your (optional,
premium) presets on your own device. This extension collects no data of
any kind — no analytics, no tracking, no telemetry. The only network
traffic it ever makes is a purchase-verification check with ExtensionPay
if you choose to upgrade.

No subscription, no account required — pay once, keep the features.
