About

MinoTabs is a visual tab switcher and tab workspace for Chrome-heavy Mac users.

Press Option Tab anywhere on macOS to open a fast visual grid of your live Chrome tabs. Search by title, URL, or site. Hit Return to switch to the tab you found.

MinoTabs also helps you create the next browser surface without going back to Chrome first:

open a new tab in a specific Chrome window
open a new Chrome window in the active profile
launch a frequently used page from quick-launch page favorites
save a set of tabs as a named Space and restore it later
keep small domain notes beside the sites you revisit often
Multi-profile Chrome users can install MinoTabs in each profile they want to see. The Mac app groups live windows by Chrome profile/account label and routes new tabs, new windows, and restored Spaces back to the right profile when possible.

What this extension does

The MinoTabs Chrome extension reads local tab metadata — titles, URLs, favicons, window IDs, tab IDs, and Chrome profile labels — and sends it to the MinoTabs macOS app through Chrome Native Messaging. The Mac app uses that metadata to show the grid, switch tabs, open new tabs/windows, and restore saved Spaces.

Local-first privacy

Your tab metadata stays on your Mac. MinoTabs does not send your tab list, browsing history, search queries, Saved Spaces, domain notes, or favorites to MinoTabs servers.

The extension does not inject scripts into webpages. Screenshot previews are off by default. If you enable previews, Chrome asks for optional site access and preview images stay local to the Mac app.
